Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Petrocelli. I am a first-year business student majoring in Business Analytics and Finance with a minor in Applied Statistics. I am originally from Allentown, PA (about an hour outside of Philly), where I played the cello for a number of years and was also part of my school’s tennis team. At Pitt, I am a member of the League of Emerging Analytics Professionals (LEAP) and the Pitt Club Tennis team. I really enjoy traveling, so this is a great opportunity to gain business insight while enjoying the whole experience.

I am so excited to participate in Plus3 Vietnam this summer. I have heard nothing but great things about the locations we will visit. It is such a unique experience that many first-years at other universities don’t have, so I wanted to take full advantage of it. I chose Vietnam specifically because Ho Chi Minh City is a significant business hub, and I have always wanted the experience of traveling to Asia. There is so much to learn about the companies we will be visiting. I am interested in international business, and gaining firsthand experience will be invaluable. Having UEF students as local guides will make the trip even more worthwhile, allowing us to see Vietnam from an authentic perspective. I hope to gain insight into traveling and studying abroad, make connections, and overall enjoy experiencing a new culture!
