Hi! I’m Chris Miller and I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. If my schedule allows, I also hope to get a minor in religious studies and the sustainability certificate. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, hiking, and swimming. I’m currently a committee member for PRISM, and a member of Engineers for a Sustainable World and the Pitt club swim team. Currently, I teach swim lessons for the Pitt Kids program and then lifeguard and teach at home in the summer. In the future, I plan to work either in renewable energy or medical devices, with a focus on electric power.
I’m super excited for the opportunity to travel to Cyprus this May! I have never traveled abroad before. While this makes the trip daunting, I think Plus3 will be a great program to start my journey as a world traveler. I’m excited to go to Cyprus since it’s a global hub and has such a meld of several cultures. This will allow me to dive deep into many cultures of the world all at once. As someone interested in religion and history, I’m also excited for the cultural site visits on the Cyprus trip and to learn more about the history of the island and how religion and conflict were influential parts of that history. In addition, I want to see how global industries incorporate sustainability practices and how this affects the supply chain, which I hope to from the many shipping companies there.
