Hi! My name is Peter Mignemi, and I’m currently a freshman in the College of Business Administration planning to major in Finance and Accounting. I am originally from Westfield, New Jersey where I played football for my high school. I enjoy listening to music, specifically Drake, Tyler the Creator, and Travis Scott. I also enjoy going to the gym frequently. Here at Pitt last semester, I got involved in some clubs such as Panther Equity as a Junior Analyst in the tech sector to expand my knowledge in Finance. Personally, I’m someone who enjoys staying active, exploring new cultures, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. These reasons make me excited to travel to Cyprus, particularly since it will be the furthest I’ve ever traveled outside the US.
I chose to do the Plus3 program because the people who presented it made it feel like a missed opportunity if I didn’t take part in it. Their enthusiasm and stories about past experiences really stuck with me and convinced me that this program offered something special. Cyprus stood out to me as a destination with a unique mix of cultural depth and global business relevance. On the cultural side, what stood out to me was the Greek mythology in Cyprus and it seemed like there were many interesting places to explore. Also as a business major, I’m excited to learn how companies operate in an international setting and how cultural differences impact business practices. Through site visits, group collaboration, and cultural immersion, I hope to develop a broader understanding of international business, improve my adaptability and communication skills, and gain valuable perspective that will help me grow both personally and professionally.
