Hi everyone! My name is Anqi and I am a freshman studying Accounting and Finance at Pitt Business. I am from Allentown, Pennsylvania, but I have also lived in Shanghai, China, for many years. At Pitt, I am active in many clubs and activities, such as Pittsburgh Student Venture Capital, Phi Beta Lambda, Undergraduate Finance Club, and Empower. Outside of school, I enjoy listening to music, hanging out with friends, reading, and most importantly, traveling! For this reason, I am beyond excited to spend my time in Vietnam, where I am sure I will learn great new things about the country, its culture, and its business operations.

I was interested in Plus 3 Vietnam partly due to my love for Vietnamese food. Since I work at a Vietnamese restaurant, I have been able to emerge myself in the country’s culture and foods, giving me a new found appreciation for the country. As well, I am fascinated by the country’s history and the influence China has had on it. Lastly, I also wish to learn about how countries operate business differently and to explore the contrast between Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Western economies in terms of cultural influences, regulatory environments, and approaches to innovation and globalization.

I am beyond excited to begin our journey to Ho Chi Minh City! I am positive that we will have a great experience and learn many more things along the way.
