Introduction Ryan Aszmus

Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Aszmus, and I am a sophomore finance and supply chain management major here at the University of Pittsburgh. After college I aspire to become a manager for a salesforce or operations company. This summer I plan to work back at my hometown in Lancaster PA. Outside of the classroom I love staying active whether it’s going to the gym or playing wiffleball with my friends outside. I love sports and in my free time I golf with friends and family.

Traveling is something that has always fascinated me in life. Having the opportunity to visit new countries and gain new cultural experiences really excites me. I have been fortunate to travel to some awesome countries in the last couple years including Greece, Vietnam, Aruba, Mexico, and the Bahamas. It is my passion to explore and travel to places outside of my comfort zone. Last year I was a part of the Pitt Plus3 trip to Vietnam where I had the experience of a lifetime. I chose the Plus3 Germany program because I saw it as a unique opportunity to visit Germany and gain great real-world experience. I studied German in high school so now I have a chance to apply it. I look forward to the cultural and professional opportunities Germany can provide me.

This program offers great insight into some of Germany’s biggest industries, one being the car manufacturing. Seeing how some of the world’s most impressive vehicles are built will certainly be interesting. As a supply chain management major, I look forward to seeing the process it takes for cars to go from raw materials to road ready. I also look forward to being paired with students from a local Augsburg university. Being able to learn about their foreign professional experiences will defiantly be unique. Overall, this program excites me at the thought of what I can possibly learn overseas. From the new culture to professional opportunities, this program is right for me.
