Hi! My name is Julia Cesca and I am from West Chester, Pennsylvania. I just finished my freshman year in the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh. A little bit about me is that I love to explore new places, try new foods, spend time with friends, and go to concerts. I traveled abroad to Italy last summer and had an amazing time, so I am very excited to go to Argentina and broaden my knowledge of various places around the world. At Pitt, I am involved in the Nursing Students Association (NSA), which is a club that gives me access to workshops, mental health activities, connections to people in healthcare, and helpful resources to guide me through nursing school and my future career. This past semester I also joined the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority which hosts philanthropy events to benefit the community and support organizations. After graduating, I plan to go back to school to become either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
I am extremely excited to be a part of the Plus3 Argentina program this summer! As soon as I heard about this amazing opportunity in my freshman seminar class, I knew it was something that I wanted to do. I was drawn to this program specifically because it offers the chance to explore how healthcare and business work together globally, and I am eager to see firsthand and learn about how Argentina’s healthcare system compares to that of the United States. Professionally, I expect this experience to significantly help me become a well rounded professional as I will gain insight on how to provide quality care in diverse healthcare settings. Personally, I hope to grow in confidence and adaptability by immersing myself in a new environment. Academically, I look forward to expanding my understanding of global health challenges and learning how different cultures approach care. Overall, I can’t wait to experience Argentina’s rich culture along with making lifelong friends and memories!
