Day 1

Getting off the nine hour flight I was hoping for a city that was sure to impress and it definitely lived up to my expectations. After going through customs and boarding our bus to our hotel, we noticed that a majority of the billboards facing the highway near the airport were of the famous argentine soccer player Maximiliano Meza with various product endorsements. The architecture of the city is very unique and unlike how The United States builds their structures with a lot of the buildings in the city actually being french inspired.

After arriving at the hotel and dropping off our luggage we went to the IES office just a block away for lunch. The food there was more than anything that I could’ve expected with chorizo sandwiches  and steak and grilled potatoes and even more. The view from the 12th floor was spectacular with sweeping views the Avenida de Julio, one the main roads that crosses Buenos Aires. I also found it cool how almost every building had some kind of rooftop deck which is different from Pittsburgh where very few buildings have balconies on the top for the general public. Overall my first impression of Buenos Aires was very positive and I can’t wait to go out and explore more of what this city has to offer!
