Day 1 Buenos Aires

After a very, very, very long travel day we arrived in Buenos Aires. Two flights and 12 hours of airtime later we have finally landed in the city. Today was mostly a administration day, making sure we were checked in to the hotel and ready to start our trip. When we arrived at the IES location in the city we had an excellent lunch of steak and chicken although my favorite was the chorizo sandwich, we had at the start. Overall, I am excited to explore the city and learn more about the culture and customs of Argentina.

My first impressions of the city are conflicted. Its a major hub of both business and finance yet it seems so laid back and calm. Everyone is in no rush to get where they need to be and seems to just enjoy being in the moment with the people around them. It’s very different from the speed and bustle of south Oakland and I’m looking forward to experiencing it. The city itself is very different from anything I’ve experience before and my minimal experience speaking Spanish will definitely be put to the test these next couple of weeks. The city itself looks amazing and I’m excited to learn more about it.
