After the long plane ride Buenos Aires was a nice change of scenery. At first it feels like any other city but what I noticed right away was the building styles, here it is much different than that of Pittsburgh. Almost all of the buildings have some sort of rooftop structure or living space, unlike in the US where the roof is unused, here they seem all occupied. I mean I saw a house onto of a 20 story building, a single family house.
The hardest part of being in the city is the language barrier, as I speak 0 Spanish. This makes communication hard and in 12 hours I have already run into this a multitude of times. This being said I believe I will actually learn Spanish and have already picked up on 2 phrases. Hopefully this won’t be too big an issue and hopefully I can learn Spanish along with everything else we came here to learn.
Other than the buildings and language Buenos Aires feels like any other world class city. And after one day I am already impressed by the food and happy from the weather. I am very excited to explore the city and see what Argentina has to offer.
