We’ve had a first great day in Buenos Aires so far. After the long flight, we took a bus to the hotel, which gave me my first look at Argentina. The rural areas we passed were beautiful, and as we got closer to the city, I was fascinated by the varying types of architecture. I thought that some looked more European, while others looked much more modern. We received a very warm greeting from IES with a rooftop lunch and delicious food. Everything served was amazing, but my personal favorite was the chorizo sandwich.
Later on, some of us took a walk around the surrounding blocks and found some cool shops, restaurants, and buildings. I’m not sure if it was just the area that we were walking through, but Buenos Aires feels a lot quieter than most other cities I’m used to (such as Philadelphia), which I really liked. It was exciting to find a unique building around every corner, and I’m looking forward to exploring even more over the next two weeks.
