Day 2

To kick off our second day, we were greeted with an amazing breakfast filled with a variety of delicious foods, all enjoyed alongside a beautiful view. After breakfast, we headed to Suwon Hwaseong, a well-preserved 18th-century fortress. Built between 1794 and 1796 by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty, it was constructed to honor his father, Prince Sado, and reflect the king’s dedication to filial piety and political reform. It was a fascinating historical site and a great way to start the day. We even had the chance to shoot a bow and arrow on-site, which was definitely one of the highlights of the day.

Our next stop was the Samsung Innovation Museum (SIM), where we explored the evolution of technology—from early electrical devices to Samsung’s cutting-edge smart tech. I was especially impressed by how deeply Samsung has integrated smart technology into everyday life, from refrigerators to TV displays and even a 2-in-1 washer/dryer. It was also fascinating to learn that the Samsung campus includes amenities like a hospital and dining hall, designed to support their employees holistically.

We ended the day in Myeongdong, a famous shopping district in Seoul. With some free time, my friend Nate and I visited 8DIVISION, a store I had researched beforehand and was eager to check out. 8DIVISION is a top-tier South Korean concept store known for curating high-end streetwear and contemporary fashion from both global and local designers. It was an awesome experience, and I picked up a few pieces I’m excited to wear.

To conclude the day, we enjoyed a traditional Korean dinner at Myeongdong Chaewoom, featuring a delicious spread that included beef bulgogi stew, mackerel, japchae, seasonal vegetables, dolsot rice, and more. It was the perfect cultural experience to end the day on a high note.

All in all, this was another jam-packed day filled with amazing food, meaningful experiences, and lasting memories. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited for what’s to come.
