Even though we only spent a day in Cayambe, it was very memorable and the nature was breathtaking. We went to learn about the flower industry and even got a bouquet as a gift in the end! Seeing how flowers were made from start to finish was an exciting experience. We also got to be right on the equator! One thing I realised about Ecuador is that it’s filled with dogs.. so if you are a cat person like me, you’ll have to be more open to petting dogs instead. As someone who loves animals, I was very content with seeing all the cows, chickens, ducks, horses, etc… Additionally, we played volleyball and soccer with the kids staying at the same place as us. We also learnt about the community there and how important flowers and tourists are to Ecuador’s economy when visiting la casa comunal picalqui. Unfortunately we had to leave Cayambe early and head to Otavalo. However, we know that we’ll make the most of our time anywhere during this trip!
