Seoul Day 3:

Seoul day three was extremely interesting but also rough at some points for me. Today, we went on two company visits, which required many hours’ worth of driving through bumpy roads. This caused me to get very carsick, but I ended up feeling okay after we got off. Our first visit was to Fredit, the famous Korean yogurt manufacturer! Being interested in engineering, I found it incredibly fascinating how almost everything was automated in the manufacturing process of the bottles and yogurt. I found it elegant how everything was kept so clean and efficient. At the end of the tour, we were given some gifts from Fredit and delicious free samples.

Before we embarked on our second company visit, Dr. Yun took us out to a great soup restaurant. What we had here was beef and seafood stew, with mushrooms and famous homemade tofu scattered in it as well. This was one of my favorite places to eat so far. The broth was a delicious mix of different meats, slightly sweet and rich. My table and I finished absolutely everything given to us. Afterward, Dr. Yun bought us ice cream! I got a chocolate ice cream cone, which was also pretty good. Then we hopped on the bus for another 1 hour drive.

Our last company visit was TK Elevator. This company was super fun to tour because employee esteem is very important to them. Some of the things they offered were a golf simulator, pool tables, and ping pong tables. I made sure to make the most of what they gave us and it was a fun time. We also toured their factory and got to see their testing tower. Overall, this day was very enjoyable and I can’t wait to see what other companies have in store for us.
