Day 4 (Hyundai, Han River Cruise, Starfield Coex Mall)

Today was our earliest start to the day of the trip. We had to be in the lobby of the hotel by 6:50 a.m. to make it to Hyundai’s factor in Asan. This meant no breakfast. We were provided with a breakfast box that had a sandwich, fruits, and mochi.

We arrived at the factory around 9 a.m. The factory was huge, and we started our tour. On the tour we were shown the process of making a car. It started with machines shaping materials and parts into the correct shape for use. After all the parts were created, they were taken to the assembly line. This is where the cars were put-on slow-moving conveyor belts where workers would place the correct parts on the cars as they came by. The last step was painting the cars. They were again put on conveyor belts and machines would perfectly spray them. After the cars were all finished, they would be filled with gas and taken to be test driven.

After the Hyundai plant we were taken back to Seoul for the Han River Cruise. Before the cruise started, we were given a Bento box for lunch. For my Bento box I selected bulgogi for the meat which was good. It also came with seaweed, vegetables, kimchi, and mushrooms. After eating we were able to board the boat for the cruise. The cruise was very cool, and we were able to feed seagulls with fish from the boat.

After the cruise we were able to head back to the hotel. We were given free time to go out so a group of us decided to go to Starfield Coex Mall. This is one of the biggest malls in Korea and it was a lot of fun looking around there. In the mall they even had a large library that like something I had never seen before. We eventually left the mall and headed back to the hotel.
