Our day started again with class at UEF in the morning. Our first class, from professor Minh, was about green transformation of companies in Vietnam, which was similar to what we learned about yesterday on our first company visit at GreenViet. One thing that was similar between the two was that they both talked about the three P’s of green transformation: people, profit, and planet. After our first class I headed down to the lobby to get iced matcha during our break, which was very tasty. Then, we had our second language class where we learned more words to introduce ourselves, like toi la ngoui My, which means I am American.
Next was lunch at Vietnamese-Italian restaurant with a beautiful view of some of the city’s buildings and greenery. We ate pizza, fruit salad, and spaghetti. One pizza had pork and seaweed on it, which was unlike anything I have had before but was very good.

After lunch it was time for our second company visit: FPT Software. First, we did a little tour of the building where we got to see where employees worked, and as we walked around we were told a little more about how they do things at FPT. It became very apparent that FPT is very focused on being ‘green’ and there was a lot of focus on the people. I think that the coolest part about the building was the huge courtyard in the middle where employees can walk around and get some fresh air during the day. This also adds to the planet aspect of the green building as there were lots of plants in the courtyard.

After walking around, we were all hot and sweaty so we went inside the nice air conditioning to have a session with one of the employees at FPT, business analyst La Hoai Vu. I think that the highlight of the conversation was that we could learn more in depth about what it was like to work at such a large company like FPT, and how well FPT specifically takes care of their employees. One very attractive aspect of working at FPT is the fact that they will play for you to become more educated while working there so you can further develop your career and become a better employee. In addition to this, it also seems very fun to work at FPT. There are various clubs that you can join such as pickleball club, kickboxing club, and dance club, where employees will take dance breaks throughout the day!
Overall today was a very fun day and we got to experience some really cool stuff at FPT, UEF, and during lunch.
