Today started off great with a visit to the engineering college of Bilbao, where we listened to Dr. Herrero talk about her device that helps detect how you balance yourself. Hearing about the patenting process was interesting for someone going through the same process in another country. Her invention was significantly more impressive than mine however and I am excited to ask follow up questions when we get to see the device in person.
Afterwords, Dr. Borovetz talked about Pittsburgh and the process of working with the heart to make artificial hearts. I am currently interested in designing scaffolding to help heart tissue regrow, so I asked Dr. Borovetz a LOT of follow up questions about future paths and where the field was going, and his awnser were very interesting.
Afterwords, we headed to the Guggenheim museum. It was amazing! The architecture was incredible, the artwork inside was breathtaking. I especially enjoyed the exhibit that showed the progression of art throughout time from Da Vinci to Picasso to modern art. We also got to see the flower dog in person and I think it made me develop allergies
Today, we still have to find someplace to go and eat dinner. I personally want to go try some more pintxos, but we’ll see what happens!
