Today was a day of contrasts — we started in the digital world of video game development and ended in the quiet beauty of the Troodos Mountains. At Wargaming, I got a behind-the-scenes look at what really goes into creating the games that millions of people play worldwide. It turns out, it’s more than just coding and cool graphics. Developers navigate multiple unexpected channels, including platform negotiations and international regulations. One fascinating takeaway was how the same game has to be adapted for different countries, based on local laws and player expectations. From a supply chain perspective, their use of electronic distribution stood out — it ensures players get access to the game as efficiently as possible, no matter where they are in the world.
Later, we made our way to Kakopetria Village and the beautiful St. Nicholas of the Roof Church. Kakopetria, with its winding streets and mountain views, felt like stepping into a postcard. I loved seeing the women selling jars of fruit in syrup right from their porches — such a sweet example of local tradition and hospitality that added so much charm to the village. The setting itself, nestled in the Troodos Mountains, made it feel like a hidden gem. At the church, the atmosphere was peaceful and humbling. The small, dark interior was lined with centuries of layered frescoes, each added over time with new plaster and paint — a tradition that speaks to both faith and artistic continuity. It was like walking through a living history book.
