Big Baller Blog Day 4

My perspective on the issue Mr. Rad Kivette discussed helped me develop a more open-minded view of global challenges. When he shared the stories, many of them reminded me of things I had heard as a child, but I never truly realized how serious or real those situations were. What really interested me was learning about the wide range of programs they have in place to help advance Vietnam. While some of the solutions are somewhat similar to those used in the U.S., many of the problems Vietnam faces are very different from what we experience here. Their methods for addressing these challenges are incredibly unique. For example, implementing a girls’ club as a way to empower young women is something truly special—not many countries take that approach. One potential challenge they could face in the future is the risk of losing support or aid from other countries. I also want to add that this organization is probably one of the best we’ve had the opportunity to visit, and it left a strong impression on me.
