This morning we visited the Vina Capital Foundation. The goal of the foundation is the help the people in poverty get out of poverty. Vina Capital believes the best way to do that is to help the woman and mother break the standard norm of what is expected of them. Part of one of their programs Brighter Path offers girls in their teenage years scholarships to continue their education to entice them not to get married and have kids at such a young age. By having an education you be able to get a decent paying job so you can take care of yourself pulling them out of a life of poverty.
These methods that Vina Capital is using is similar to what the United States does. The United States offers young adults scholarship or financial aid so they can continue their education and go to college if they choose. To expand on the foundation’s work I think they should focus on the rural areas where poverty is a bigger problem and start an education program there. This helps change the situation in the rural areas without just having people move and stay in the city.
