Day 3: Nuremberg and MAN

For our third day we took the bus to Nuremberg to explore the city and tour the company MAN. Going into today, I did not know what to expect since we had not explored any cities besides Augsburg yet. When we got there my first impression was how beautiful it was. The weather was perfect and all of the buildings were gorgeous. We then did a walking tour of some sights in the city which I really enjoyed. Our guide was so nice and engaging and he told us some really interesting facts about the city. One thing i found especially cool was the fact that all of the furniture and even the windows inside of the buildings that were bombed were the originals, and were stored underground when the bombing occurred.

After our city tour we had lunch, then attended our tour for MAN. While at MAN we looked at an engine factory. The first thing that stuck out to me in this tour was the driverless machines carrying around important items. I had never seen anything like that before and it was a very interesting contrast to the medieval buildings we had just seen. Another thing I was definitely impressed by was how organized the facotry was. I have never been to a factory before so the image in my mind is more similar to what I’d seen in movies and what i’d learned in schools, and overall i imagined them to be a lot more chaotic, but everything inside was extremely organized. When i thought about it more i realized this makes a lot of sense because they are working with such precise materials and parts.

Overall I really loved Nuremberg and I am excited for the days ahead!
