This morning we left the city of Nicosia and arrived in Limassol after a short 1 hour drive. We explored the Kourion Archaeological Site. My favorite part was the ancient amphitheater that had a stunning view overlooking the sea. An important part of the history of Kourion was the earthquake/tsunami that happened a very long time ago ruined the amphitheater, but most of it was rebuilt. Being there you can see the bottom half of the amphitheater that is older than the top half. Another interesting fact was when you stand in the middle of the stage and echo you can hear yourself from all angles sort of like a microphone. I really enjoyed looking at the ancient city-kingdom!

Arriving at the Limassol marina, we had time to walk around and get lunch. It is so nice to be near the water finally! My friends and I ate mini meze for lunch then went souvenir shopping. We all got matching evil eye bracelets to remember our trip together. After we toured the Limassol Castle. The Limassol Castle is in the center of Old City. A fact I learned was the castle used to be used as a prison but now is used as a museum. When walking around the castle it is interesting to see how each room was used with artifacts in each room. I loved going to the top and you can overlook all of Limassol with the sea in the background.
