Day 2 – Campus, Castles, and Clues

Today was our first full day in Augsburg and it was packed full of activities. We started off the morning by heading to the University of Augsburg where we met the German students we’ll be working with during this program. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming! It was exciting to finally connect with the people we’ll be collaborating with over the next two weeks.

After some introductions we jumped into our first assignment. We were asked to create a short presentation about the companies we’ve been learning about. It was fun working with the group and getting to hear their thoughts and ideas. We also had a guest lecture to help us better understand the industry we’ll be focusing on. The whole morning gave us a better look into what university life in Germany is like and I noticed how calm and peaceful the campus felt compared to what I’m used to.

Later we went on a tour of the university and then headed back into the city for a scavenger hunt. We got to see more of Augsburg and stopped at places like St. Ulrich’s and St. Afra’s Abbey. We even got to go inside the cathedral and it was absolutely beautiful. The details and artwork were incredible and it felt like walking into a piece of history.

After the scavenger hunt we had dinner as a group and got to hang out more with the German students. It was a really fun way to end the day and I already feel like we’re starting to build a good connection with them. I’m looking forward to working together more and seeing what else Augsburg has to offer!
