Today we took the bus to Ingolstadt to visit Audi and it ended up being one of the most impressive company visits so far. We arrived a little early and I wasn’t sure what to expect at first but right away the Audi campus stood out. Everything looked modern and polished and the entire place had a really sleek feel to it.
We started our visit at the Audi museum which was so interesting. It was set up in a way that showed the evolution of Audi over time. We got to see some of their oldest cars and how the designs and technology have changed through the years. There were also a few interactive parts and cool facts that made it fun to walk through.
After the museum we toured the factory and I was honestly amazed. It was crazy to see a full-size car being built step by step right in front of us. Our guide explained that 90 percent of the work is done by machines and only 10 percent by humans. It was fascinating to see how organized and efficient the whole process was and how even the smallest parts had to be perfectly timed.
After the tour we had lunch in one of Audi’s on-site restaurants and it was actually really good. Then we sat in on a lecture with one of their employees who talked to us more about the company and the global car market. It was a helpful session and gave a deeper view of how a company like Audi fits into the larger industry.
Once we got back to Augsburg I had a pretty quiet night. We had dinner as a group and then I called it an early night to get some rest. Today was a great mix of learning and exploring and Audi definitely left a strong impression.
