Remembering Evita

Today was a chill day with a lot of free time. We started off with a lecture and Q & A from Dr. Gabriel Novick. He did a quick overview of Argentina’s healthcare system before and after the changes made by the current president, Milei. This was extremely helpful in putting together all of the information we learned from each speaker yesterday. Since my topic is the unions, I understand so much better how the process works and what the affect of the new changes has on the unions. He also gave us the opportunity to work on our projects and ask any questions we needed of him.

We than had a 30 minute break followed by a bus ride to Museum Evita. Before going into the museum, we went to the resturant attached to the museum. The museum was dedicated to the life of Evita Perón, who was the First Lady of Argentina. I didn’t know much about her before this visit but it was so cool to see how much she had accomplished in the short life she lived. She played a major role in women rights, helped pass women’s suffrage, and support many social welfare problems for the poor.
