It’s a little bit of a rainy day in Bilbao today, but the hotel breakfast cheered me up once more. We were off for another hospital visit at the start of the day but had to take a 45-minute metro ride to arrive there. All was well when one of my friends on the trip started getting motion sickness from the train. We had to get off in order for him to be okay and had to catch a later metro to meet up with the group. After 30 minutes, we finally were on the next train, sitting down this time too so he would be okay. We thought we were going to be so late but ended up arriving at the hospital before the whole group! Their bus took them in the wrong direction, and they had to walk to meet up with us. In the meantime, my friend and I gazed at the amazing views the hospital on the beach provided. It is in a cove almost, and the cliffs are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. The actual hospital itself was cool to look at too. We then were given a short presentation on the hospital before being given tours. We learned about the rehab they do at the hospital, the pediatrics wing, and the Orkea balance project and got a tour of almost the entire hospital itself. Overall it was a great experience, and I learned so much about the rehab process and how people are trying to aid in the recovery process. The night ended with seeing a concert performed in the Arriaga Theater. It was amazing hearing the instruments and opera singer in the spectacular theater, and everything came more to life when the choir joined in.
