Yonsei University

Hello! This is day 7 of my blog from South Korea, and today we visited the famous Yonsei University! This stands as the third-best school in South Korea. The commute to the university was extremely long, as we took multiple subway lines and took the bus too. When we got there, we could tell it wasn’t the best day to do a tour. The forecast showed that heavy rains were expected, and things would have to be skipped during the tour.

The first thing we did was get food at the cafeteria. Dr. Yun has us each a meal, and I ordered the beef soup. This was excellent quality compared to the food we have at Pitt. I feel so lucky to be one of the students who get to have this every day.

As we moved on, our next stop was the main and oldest hall of the campus. Here, we were given a rundown on how Yonsei came to be, some brief Korean war history, and a beautiful view of a large portion of campus. I loved the greenery of this place the most. How something so magnificent can be on a college campus makes me jealous of the kids experiencing Yonsei.

Our next stops were the research laboratories. Yonsei is mainly known as a tech school specializing in Engineering, while also being well above average in areas such as business. Due to this specialization, they’ve poured tons of money into research, and we as a school got to see all their equiptment.
