Waking up at 6 am was difficult, but I couldn’t have been more excited to go on this hike. We planned to hike Mount Bukhansan, a 4.8 out of 5 in difficulty. We were on the road for a little over an hour to get to the mountain. After the long bus ride, we had to walk over a mile to get to the trail. As we became closer to the mountain, we began to walk on wooden pathways up to the trail. Once we finally got to the main trail, it became extremely rigged with rocks on the entire path up. It also began to get really steep as we neared the foot of the mountain. When we were halfway up the mountain, we turned around and saw an insane view of the city’s landscape. As we went higher up the mountain, the view kept getting better and better. I kept taking more pictures, and each was better than the last. Finally, we got to the last stretch of the climb, and the hardest. It became all rock, towering above all the land and other mountains around. We had to climb the rest of the way up, which was super steep, so we needed to use the helpful rails and cables to assist in our ascent. Once we finally got to the top, we took dozens of photos and videos to capture the surrounding land. Being at the top of that mountain was so rewarding to finally see the view that I still cannot get over. Hiking up Bukhansan was the highlight of the trip, and one of the greatest experiences in my life.
After the hike, I was so sore and my feet hurt since I was not wearing the best shoes. We headed to Shake Shack to get a delicious burger and chicken sandwich, and went back to the hotel. Once we showered and rested for a little bit, we went to the cooking class to make Bibimbap! The cooking class was so fun, and I loved the environment in the kitchen. After preparing all of our ingredients, we finally plated our dish and got to enjoy our creation. The cooking class was another great experience on this trip.
