Today definitely seemed to be a more relaxed day. We started the day around 9:30 and took a bus to Bukchon Hanok Village. This village is a historical neighborhood with very cool houses. The houses are very close to each other, and they all run up a steep hill. When we arrived at Bukchon Hanok Village we were told that we must be very quiet as we walk around. This is because these houses are still being occupied, and we must not disturb the residents. I also stumbled upon a small coffee shop that served coffee, tea, breakfast foods, and more in Bukchon Hanok Village.

After visiting the Bukchon Hanok Village we headed to the Jogyesa Temple. This is only one of a couple of Buddhist temples in Seoul. The temple was very cool and had very bright lanterns hanging from above. We were even about to enter the temple. We had to remove our shoes before entering and then there were three golden Buddha’s as well as people praying to them.

After the Jogyesa Temple we headed to Namdaemun Market. We had a little free time before we had to eat lunch, so we started to look in the stores. Dr. Yun told us not to buy anything at the market because it is very expense compared to other markets.

After our free time was over, we headed back and were given the opportunity to stay with the group or eat on our own. Me and a couple of others chose to eat on our own. We ended up getting Korean fried chicken and fried gizzard. Both tasted great and the gizzard especially surprised me. There were five of us and the meal ended up coming out to around 22,000 won. This was a great price for the amount food we got. After lunch we had free time for the rest of the day which we spent shopping.
