Today was an amazing visit as we saw the great city of Munich. It is the third most populated city in Germany boasting over 1.6 million residents. We rode the train in around 10:30 heading straight to the Glockenspiel to see wooden characters dance around the clock at the top of the hour. Munich was filled with tourist and our group blended in perfectly to that. The tour of the city was rewarding as we kept a great pace and got to see many interesting things in the two-hour tour. Munich was home to the creation of the national socialist party, and it was interesting to hear the stories behind that. The Hofbräuhaus in Munich, the original one, was where they came up with the name. Outside of that dark history the Hofbräuhaus was unique and cool as the culture there was on full display. Hearing a German band was very cool People were dressed up in tradition lederhosen gear.
After the tour we had time on our own and we found a delicious restraint for lunch. I was very hungry and needed food instantly. I had a traditional pork roast that was super tasty. Next, we had to go to the Bayern Munich store to get something to take home. I got a scarf at the team store to hangup back at home. Bayern had locked up the title for the Bundesliga, so the city was preparing for a celebration tomorrow. I got to experience something I have always wanted to, going to a pub for day of European soccer. It was awesome to the passion and fandom many Germans have for their teams. We wrapped up the day with a burger dinner. It was one of my favorite meals so far as I got a triple smash burger loaded to the brim with a side of parmesan garlic fries. It was a great way to end an amazing experience in Munich. The picture I chose is me with my Bayern Munich scarf outside one of the buildings in the vast Munich garden.
