This morning we drove to Paphos and along the way we stopped to look at Aphrodite’s Rock. Knowing the backstory of the birth of Aphrodite then seeing it in person was a memorable experience. I enjoyed walking along the pebbled beach around the sea and looking at the natural beauty of the rocks. A short drive later, we visited the Archaeological Site of the Tomb of the Kings. Everything in the site was interesting to look at because it was so ancient and had a lot of history behind it. After that, we went to the Papho’s Harbor for lunch and souvenir shopping. For lunch I got the most delicious Chicken Gyro ever. It was so good! To finish the day we had a guided tour of the ancient floor mosaics of Paphos. They are a valuable record of how everyday life was to the Greek-Romans. It was interesting to hear the background of each mythological scene.
