Today we started our day off at the local Sunday flower/flea market. It was cool to see so many locals at the market and get a better understanding of the culture not only from what they vendors were selling, but also seeing the locals getting flowers for their apartments! I was successful at the market and bought a ring as well as some old postcards from Bilbao and Madrid. I then tried rabas (similar to calamari) and Mosto (drink similar to grape juice) both of which are unique to the Basque region!
The group then took the 1.5 hour bus tour to San Sebastian for the afternoon. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it felt like a summer day seeing so many people in the ocean. As soon as we got there we went on a walking tour of the city and learned more about the city’s history. We learned that the city is actually older than Bilbao and was founded in 1180. Another interesting fact I learned was that there has been 12 fires in the city since it was founded so most of the city has been rebuilt from when the city was first founded. I loved learning about the history of the city and really seeing how similar it is to Bilbao. Even though the city was much smaller than Bilbao it still looked quite similar with the layout and design of the city.

After the tour I went to the beach and dipped my feet in the water because it was such a nice day outside. I then ended with some delicious Pintxos and more shopping of course. Even though it was a long day it was well worth it to see the city and to see so many Michelin star restaurants in one area! I 100% want to go back to this area sometime in the future!
