Today we had a short itinerary which consisted of going to the Seoul Tower first. We were able to sleep in today till 12 which felt great. We then took bus to the bottom of Seoul tower which is basically a huge structure that overlooks the entire city of Seoul. The tower gave us breathtaking views of the city. It was cool to see how huge Seoul is because sometimes I forget that Seoul is absolutely gigantic. The tower had plenty of restaurants and stores in it where I got a chicken sandwich and played some arcade games to pass the time. A highlight of the tower was actually singing “I want it that way” karaoke with some of the guys on the trip. After about 2 hours of hanging out at the tower we walked down the mountain and started our journey to the next place which was a cooking class.

In this cooking class we learned how to make bibimbap. Bibimbap stands for mixed rice in korean. The basic idea of the dish is a bowl that has a bed of rice and a bunch of cooked vegtables, meats, and an egg that eventually gets all mixed together. Bibimbap has been one of my favorite foods I have had on the trip so far so I was excited to learn how to make it. We were instructed by a very well respected chef who has cooked for some very famous people and her work has been in famous shows like Squid Game. The first part of he process was to cut the vegetables. We sliced onions, carrots, chives, mushrooms, and lettuce. Then we cooked the onions, carrots, and chives very slowly with some oil and salt. After this we cooked our egg. I made mine sunny side up because I like the yolk to break. Then on a higher heat we cooked the mushrooms with some soy sauce before adding the beef and the pan. Once everything was cooked we plated the dish with attention to color and neatness. I was very pleased with my product and the taste was amazing. I cant wait to try to make this at home this summer and during the school year next year! Thanks for reading my blog and I am looking forward to tomorrow!
