Over the Top

Today started off slow, which was a nice change of pace. Since our group activities didn’t start until noon, a few of us took the morning to relax and visit a local café. I got a plain bagel and cream cheese along with a caramel latte and it was very good. We sat and chatted for a while, enjoying the calm before the day’s adventures.

Once it was time to meet up, we gathered in the hotel lobby and made our way to Seoul Tower using public transportation. The final leg of the journey involved a winding bus ride up the hill, which made things a little more exciting than expected. At the base of the tower, we grabbed lunch which was some spicy chicken from one of the food stands nearby. The view from Seoul Tower was incredible. Seeing the city from above really put into perspective just how massive and vibrant Seoul is. After soaking it all in, we decided to walk down the hill on one of the trails which was fun.

Our next stop was probably my favorite part of the day: a hands-on bibimbap cooking class. We chopped vegetables, marinated meat, and carefully plated everything ourselves. Not only was it fun and entertaining , but I honestly think it was one of the best meals I’ve had here so far. Maybe it tasted better because I made it, or maybe I just love bibimbap that much. I’m excited and can’t wait to see what else is in store this trip.
