Pitt takes on Neuschwanstein

On Friday, we journeyed to the alps to visit the beautiful castle Neuschwanstein. The bus ride to the location was very scenic. As the mountains approached, excitement grew as I have never seen such large snow capped mountains. Upon arrival, the air was cold and thin but the view of the still water and tall mountains made you forget about the chilly air. Some groups took a horse drawn carriage to the castle but I just walked up. Once I summited the trail, everywhere you looked was like a scene out of a painting. Being high up and seeing the farmland, turning around to see the magnificent castle, and behind it are breathtaking mountains. Being inside the castle was its own experience too. Every single room is extremely detailed and every inch of the castle has an expensive, luxurious feel, as any house fit for a king should.

Before we went back to the hotel we stopped at Augsburg University again to listen to Mr. Essel from MAN. Most of what he talked about was similar to what we heard on the tour but, he had more insight on the company as a whole. It was interesting to hear about the future of electric trucking and how MAN works to maximize driving distance for EVs. In America it is much more difficult for the trucking industry to make the switch due to the longer drives, larger cargoes, and less relaxed driving time regulations. It makes me wonder what will happen to gas stations in the EU. I suppose many will switch to charging stations, remain open only as convince stores and some may close down altogether. Lots of government intervention will be mandatory to assist in the protection of gas companies as well as the financing of improving EV infrastructure.
