Day 9 in Bilbao started off with our travel to Gernika. We started off with a tragic event, enjoying our last hotel breakfast. My daily breakfast of one roll, one chocolate crossing, a piece of tortilla, two sausages, and glass of orange juice will sadly not be enjoyed again. As i’ve been saying, I would eat this breakfast every day for the rest of my life if possible.
After breakfast we had an important company visit at Tekniker. We learned about the many machines, which we weren’t allowed to take pictures of, that they plan to input in to the world in the future. It was an incredible expiernce and interesting to further see how engineering devices will be implemented in to world of medicine.
After this amazing visit, we began our travels to Guernica. We arrived to the hotel safe and sound before moving on to our visit to Casa de Junta. Here we learned of much history including picasso’s famous painting of the bombing of Guernica which is known as the first real time where citizens got bombed for lack of reason. There were beautiful stain glass ceilings and many paintings representing the most important people of society at the time. It was beyond cool and fun to learn about!
