I’m devastated to say that today was the last official day of cultural or company visits. We planned for two company visits today, an Oil Tank Culture Park and Seoul Waterworks HQ. It was a very hot and humid day, which was very unfortunate especially because the Oil Tank was outside. Unluckily, the actual Oil Tank buildings were closed when we got there, so we walked around and saw them from the outside. The park was also nice, although as I mentioned, it was extremely hot outside. We decided to go towards the next company visit and have a little more free time than planned. Susu and I got lunch and shared some tteokbokki and kimbap. Once we were full, we met up with the others to walk to the water purification plant. The first thing we did when we got there was watch a video explaining what the company does. After asking a few questions, we were given a small tour to see each step of the process. Soon we moved on to the museum and learned more about daily life water usage. My favorite part was seeing how the water started and then each step until it was 100% clean. The difference is crazy.
We were able to have a large amount of time after the tours before having to be back for curfew. A small group of us went to some stores before getting some boba to fuel us and taking the subway to Seongsu. We stopped by Olive Young and a skincare pop up next door. I can’t wait to try all the products I got, and I need it because my skin has been breaking out badly ever since I got here. Some of us wanted to go vintage shopping and visit the accessory store that we went to a few days ago, so we stopped at those and some others before getting some dinner. We decided on a pizza place, and it was delicious. A little on the expensive side for pizza, but it was good, so it was worth it. We decided to go back to the hotel because we were tired of our business casual clothes.
After getting back, it finally hit me that we were leaving soon. I’m glad I can go home and see my family, but I’m having an amazing time here and I don’t want to leave. I’m so lucky to have this opportunity and I hope to have another chance to come back later in my life.
