Today was our last official day here in Limassol. First we went to St. Mina’s Monastery which was this small little church filled with tons of beautiful icons. The church is now a gathering spot for many women who have devoted their lives to God. It was filled with a such beauty with the flowers outside. Then we drove into this wonderful village called Lefkara. It has beautiful streets that reminded me of Greece. Every corner you turned they had shops that had women hand sewing outside. There was fine jewelry and a wonderful vibe to the village. I really enjoyed the friendliness there as well. Also as I walked around the village, I noticed a few abandoned houses, and I had asked Georgia why no one can live there. She said that the land and homes still belong to the Turkish Cypriots, so only they can come back and live there. The history that I have learned about this land and the way it is still present in every location we have visited will stick with me forever.
