Day 12 – Free Day in Innsbruck

Today. we were given free reign to do whatever we wanted within reason. Ryan and I went on an early train to Innsbruck using a cheap region pass and while it took long it saved us money. Other people took later trains and showed up around the same time while spending much more money. Innsbruck itself is very cool. It was super rainy so unfortunately we couldn’t see the amazing mountain peaks that are usually there as a backdrop for the city.

The old town was charming and has great places to eat. We visited a museum about Maximilian I, Innsbruck’s transformative emperor. Afterwards we explore the river, the fountains full of cleans wanter coming down from the alps. Soon it was time to head back, and the German trains can be a headache. But we made it back safely, and now I have to get up at 4 tomorrow to prepare for the journey back to the USA.
