Last full day in South Korea! We started our day by taking a long bus ride to an Oil Park where we planned on touring. Upon arrival, it seemed a bit empty, and apparently it was closed for tourism. We had to be flexible and adapt, so we decided to walk around the Oil Park to see the buildings from the outside, and then we decided to proceed to the next planned part of our day. We took our bus to a nice area, which was by our next stop, one of Seoul’s water purification centers, Ttukdo. In our free time my group got lunch at a sushi restaurant, and it turned out to be one of my favorite meals from Seoul. I had a plate of a mixed assortment of sushi pieces, and I also got beef tartare, all was delicious! On our way out, we decided we wanted to stop for a sweet treat. There was a doughnut place we passed by on the way, so on our way back we made a stop there. I am so glad we stopped, because these doughnuts were fantastic- a perfect balance of sweetness. I had a pistachio flavored one. We then walked back to our meeting point where we would then head, as a group, to the water plant. The presenter told us all about the history of the water treatment centers in Seoul and how they played a part in the past and present of Seoul’s development. Most of the water that they treat comes from the Han River. We also got to see a small museum about Seoul’s water. We then headed back to the hotel to work on our final presentations. My group finished up ours and decided to get one last dinner as a group, where we had Korean BBQ and it was amazing. This time the Korean BBQ place we went to served lamb and chicken and it was interesting as most places served beef, but it was just as good! We reflected on our trip and all the memories we had and we laughed so much. Korea brought us all together! I had such a great group and great time in South Korea!
