Turning the Page, The End of My Time in Ecuador

My Plus3 Ecuador trip is finally coming to an end. First of all, I want to thank my professors Rick and Skip. They led us through a flexible Plus3 program and did it so well. They had everything planned and controlled, even if things needed to be planned last minute. I also appreciate how they squished so much into the trip. It really makes you feel like you are getting the most out of the experience each and every day. Throughout the trip, it kind of felt like time stopped. We did so much, and by the end, time flew. I had so much fun going on this trip, and I am so glad I took this opportunity. When I applied for this trip, I was scared, I didn’t know what to expect. With support from family and friends, I decided to go for it. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have gained so much experience and knowledge from this trip. I also had a blast each and every day. I am so blessed and thankful to be offered the opportunity for this trip. I am also so glad that I took that step out of my shell and did it. One thing that was made clear to me during this trip was that there was no point in being scared of an opportunity. It’s like giving up before you even start. If I have any recommendations for future students looking to do Plus3, all I got to say is this: do it. Make the most of opportunities given to you. Through this trip, I grew immensely as an individual, connected deeper with some friends and made new ones along the way, and made memories I will never forget. We formed a strong community that I feel will stay connected through the years to come. Opportunities like this are rare, take them when you get the chance. Before this trip I was always hesitant with opportunities when they presented themselves. After this trip I learned that there is no point in living scared of opportunities. You should make the most of them because that one opportunity can open a gateway to new perspectives and experiences that you would have never imagined. Then, you will look back one day and smile, knowing you took the opportunity of a lifetime. This trip to Ecuador was my opportunity of a lifetime, and I learned that even the most intimidating opportunities can become the most beautiful ones.
