On this fine Wednesday, it was the day of our final presentations. My group worked hard to split up the tasks given on the syllabus and present our findings about Audi. I loved that I got the company Audi because the site visit was especially interesting and the brand itself is innovative and has a a lot to talk about. I did the introduction/overview part of the presentation. I learned a lot about the history and the 4 ring interlocked logo being the founding 4 brands of Audi, Horsch, DKW, and Wanderer and I learned about the founder, August Horsch, German engineer. I think I now know more about Audi than the average person.
I also enjoyed getting to see everybody else’s presentations on Continental, Hoerbiger, Grob, and MAN. It was interesting to hear the things they picked up on during the site visits that I might have missed and what they found in their research findings as well.
After a long day of presentations, we had our final farewell dinner at the Ratskellar. I had my final dish of spatzle which was surprisingly maybe the best one I had while in Germany. It was sad to say goodbye to the German students knowing I probably won’t see most of them again but the time we all shared was definitely unforgettable. I think plus 3 Germany was definitely the best way to get my final 3 social science credits I needed and I am so glad I did this trip… and chose the expensive way to get 3 credits. Even though I really never had a desire to go to Germany (because I didn’t know what it had to offer) or learn about the automobile industry supply chain, this trip was a beautiful kickoff to summer, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the people I met too! You take a trip with the most random group of 15 people, and it turns out great! I wouldn’t trade the experience or the knowledge for anything.
