Day 10: Grob

Today we had our last site vist of the trip, GROB. I am feeling a little bittersweet, on one hand I am so sad that this trip is coming to a close, but I am looking forward to being back home with my family.

Going into this trip people had talked a lot about how great of a company GROB was, so I was looking forward to seeing the facility, and when we arrived I definitely understood what people were talking about. The first building we went into for our lecture about the company was super cool, and there were tons of metal statues everywhere that immediately caught my attention.

After a nice breakfast and an introductory lecture, we headed to the factory to tour it. The factory was incredibly organized and clean, and was filled with more of the metal statues representing all kinds of things, including countries and events. While touring the factory, it was so interesting to see the large machinery they were working on, and It was especially interesting how each machine could be customized, one was even bright teal. I also really liked hearing all of the various companies that use GROB’s machinery. I found it interesting how even though I had never heard of GROB before this trip, they are such an important part in creating so many cars I see on the road.

After our tour we went back to the other building for another very interesting lecture about GROB and how they are navigating things like tariffs, policy, and the changing market. Overall, I thought GROB was an extremely interesting day and it was one of my favorite company visits of the trip
