Hello! I am Brooke Pollock, a sophomore here at the Pitt School of Business. I am majoring in Supply Chain Management and Business Information Systems with a certificate in Sustainability. I’m from 15 Minutes outside of Pittsburgh, in Mount Lebanon. In my free time, I love to be outside doing things like hiking or hanging out in my hammock, as well as swimming, shopping, and hanging out with friends.
I started at Pitt in the Deitrich School of Arts and Sciences, intending to do environmental science, but I later realized I wanted a more focused path. I transferred into the Pitt School of Business at the beginning of my sophomore year. On campus, I am involved in the Delta Sigma Pi Business fraternity. Over the summer, I worked at a day camp, specifically working with five and six-year-olds, which helped me develop strong communication, patience, and leadership skills.
This May, I will be traveling to Augsburg, Germany, for my plus3 location. I have chosen this program because of Germany’s longstanding commitment to sustainability as well as Germany’s leadership in the automotive industry. Personally, I have been interested in electric cars and the possibility of reducing emissions from standard gas cars ever since they were introduced.
This program will allow me to gain hands-on experience learning about the supply chain behind smart manufacturing while working toward my long-term goal of building a career in a sustainability-focused industry. I also hope to broaden my global perspective by experiencing a new culture firsthand, by interacting with Augsburg students, and by learning how international businesses operate. Overall, I am excited to apply what I learn through Plus3 to both my academic studies and future professional opportunities!
