Hi! My name is Kaarthikha Senthilkumar! I am currently a freshman student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I have lived here for the past 10 years. As of now, in the future, my goal is to become a nurse practitioner specializing in pediatrics. Outside of being in classes, I love to watch movies, listen to music, travel to different places, spend time with family/friends, bake, cook, and watch sunsets! I also love going walks and playing pickleball! I am very excited and looking forward to going to the United Kingdom as a study abroad opportunity this summer!

Like mentioned before, I will be going to Birmingham, United Kingdom for my Plus3 program this summer. The reason I chose to do Plus3 is for the new experiences and perspectives it can give me. I have always loved to travel to numerous cities and countries with my family. Now, this program allows me to travel with friends but also simultaneously learn about my future career! Although I could be learning so much from sitting in a classroom, so much more can be grasped by getting hands-on experience, especially in different settings other than on-campus. Although I have already been to the UK previously, I am still very confident that I will learn more both about academics and myself as I travel. Through this amazing opportunity this summer, I hope to understand the issues of diversity and organization of systems in healthcare and education in both the UK and the USA. I know this will definitely help me in the future as a nurse in the healthcare, regardless of where I work. I am super excited to go to Birmingham, UK with other nursing and education major students! I am looking forward to the amazing moments and experiences waiting ahead this summer!
