Hello everyone! My name is Brendan Porter, and I am from West Chester, Pa. I am a freshman year Industrial Engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering. I am more than excited to be a part of the Plus 3 Greece program. I am eager to go abroad and see what Greece is all about!

My original choice for this Plus 3 program was Cyprus, but it was switched to Greece. However, I could not be more thrilled about this change. Beyond the unique history and culture, I am excited to see what a global look into Industrial engineering is like. It will broaden my knowledge of the major and equip me with the necessary skills in engineering. Seeing how exports move to and from Greece is the top of my list.

This is my first time studying abroad, and I am excited to take my learning beyond the Pitt campus and into another country. This will also be my first time crossing time zones; hopefully, I can handle the jet lag. I am ready to tackle whatever Greece throws at me, whether it is meeting with a company or exploring ancient ruins. I will make sure to remember this opportunity and hold on to the lessons it teaches me along the way. Thank you for reading my blog.
