Greetings Greece!

Hi! My name is Anisha Hunt, and I am a freshman mechanical engineering student planning to minor in studio arts. I live about 20 minutes from Pittsburgh. Outside of academics, I enjoy cooking, trying new foods, discovering new music, and drawing. At Pitt I’m involved in the club Engineers Without Borders and I work in my off time.

For my Plus3 program, I have chosen to study abroad in Greece where we will focuses supply chains and management. What draws me most to this program is the opportunity to understand how engineering operates on a global scale. Through Plus3, I hope to gain a clearer picture of how engineering concepts are applied beyond the classroom. I am especially interested in seeing how different countries approach problem-solving, design, and production, and how cultural and economic factors influence those decisions. This experience will help me better understand the real-world impact of engineering and allow me to start identifying areas within the field that I may want to pursue in the future.

Personally, I am excited to challenge myself by stepping into an unfamiliar environment especially because this will be my first time out of the country. I hope being immersed in a new culture will push me to become more independent, adaptable, and open-minded. I also believe that experiencing different perspectives will make me a stronger engineer, as understanding diverse ways of thinking is essential when designing for a global audience. Overall, I hope this program not only strengthens my academic and professional interests but also helps me better understand where I see myself within engineering and how I can contribute to the field in a meaningful way. I am so thankful to be apart of this program and I can’t wait to see what I learn.
