Hi! My name is Amanda Negrón and I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I am majoring in industrial engineering and plan to minor in business. I chose the Plus 3 Program because I am eager to explore a new country and immerse myself in their culture, traditions, cuisine, language, and innovations. I was drawn to this program because it is specifically tailored to first-year engineer students, giving me the opportunity to study abroad early in my college journey. I also believe that this experience will help me build meaningful friendships and connections that I might not have cultivated otherwise.

Through this program, I hope to gain a once-in-a-lifetime experience that allows me to learn valuable life and engineering skills that will prove useful in my future career as an Industrial Engineer. I look forward to observing how industries abroad implement strategies for efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, and how different cultures and beliefs may influence these methods. I also aim to broaden my understanding of the world’s intricacies and to learn from my peers and instructors. Additionally, I hope this program will help me step out of my comfort zone and better prepare me for my semester abroad in my junior year.
