Hi! My name is Max Henceroth, I’m from Annapolis, Maryland, and I’m a first year, at the Swanson School of Engineering. I plan to pursue a major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering. In the future, I hope to enter either the aerospace or automotive industry.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside as much as possible. Some of my favorite activities are skiing, biking, wakeboarding, surfing, and rowing. I’m a current member of the club rowing team here at Pitt, which I highly recommend joining. When I’m not outside or studying, I enjoy playing basketball or playing some country music on my guitar.
I chose the Netherlands Plus 3 program for its blend of sustainability and engineering. My dad used to work in the solar business, and through that, I learned first hand, the ingenuity required to make the world a more sustainable place. Since then, I’ve been drawn to aspects of sustainable design, and that pull is what led me to the Netherlands program. Through this program, I aim to extend my knowledge of sustainable engineering and Dutch culture. Additionally, I would like to use what I learn through this program in my career and apply sustainable design to either the automotive or aerospace industries.
