Hello! My name is Sarah Lowman, and I am currently a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. I grew up in North Fayette, Pennsylvania, which is located about 30 minutes from Pittsburgh. I am currently studying Accounting with the goal of getting my CPA after graduation. I am eager to continue and develop my skills that will prepare me for my future career, and I am excited for the unique opportunity I will have to do this in Morocco.
Outside of the classroom, I have been a member of Panther Equity and Women in Business, both of which have helped me further explore my interests within the business space. I am also a member of Young Life and ICS and am hoping to serve on the ICS board next semester. I also really enjoy staying active. Some of my favorite things to do on campus are going on walks around Schenley and attending cycling classes. I am also always down for a good, sweet treat with friends!
I really look forward to being able to study in Morocco! I chose this program due to its unique opportunity to learn more about entrepreneurship and technology within an area and culture that’s very different from here in the US. I have never traveled out of the country before, so I really look forward to having this opportunity to learn and soak everything in. I have always been interested in how people are able to start a business from nothing and I look forward to being able to figure this out over the course of the program. I look forward to being able to grow my confidence in a professional space as I have had limited exposure to this in the past. I also am excited to soak in the culture and skills that I learn and experience on this trip to take back into the classroom and to my future career.
I am very excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to leave next week!
Sarah
