Hi! My name is Charlotte Lindemann, and I’m from Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!). I am a freshman at Pitt Business double majoring in Marketing and Global Management. I’m an active participant with many organizations on Pitt’s campus, including a member of Tri Sigma Sorority, as well as the Business Manager for Pitt’s Hip-Hop Dance Crew, Controlled Chaos. I love staying active, painting, dancing, planning events, and most importantly traveling! Some of my favorite countries I’ve visited include Costa Rica, Italy, and Iceland, although I anticipate my trip to Morocco will be a cut above the rest.
I am so grateful for this opportunity to travel with Pitt Business’ Plus 3 Program to Morocco this summer! I am especially excited to visit some of the women owned business’ in Rabat and Marrakech. Over the past 2 years, I’ve worked as a hostess at a women owned local restaurant here in Buffalo. I had the privilege of working along side her and gaining insight from the many responsibilities she carries, as well as her problem-solving skills and resilience. I’m so excited to gain insight on business in Morocco through a entrepreneurial and technological lens. Approaching Morocco as a marketing and global management major, I find myself especially curious about how local businesses translate their identity into something that resonates across borders. From a marketing perspective, I want to understand the strategies they use to build brand awareness beyond their domestic market, whether that’s through digital platforms, tourism exposure, or partnerships. From a global management lens, I’m also curious about the operational side. How these businesses scale internationally, navigate different regulations, and adapt to varying consumer preferences and ideals. I cannot wait to take this trip with my Pitt Business peers and make memories that will last a lifetime. See you soon, Morocco!
